The owners of the Paddy Burke bar and restaurant in Clarinbridge, Co Galway, have acquired another famous fish restaurant and bar, Monks of Ballyvaughan, Co Clare, for around £1.5 million. The business was withdrawn at auction last September at £1.3 million and has now been sold through Ennis estate agent David Costelloe.
Monks had a turnover of around £1 million last year and is particularly popular with Irish and foreign tourists. The restaurant looks out over Ballyvaughan Bay and has an adjoining four-bedroom house.
