When it comes to building houses, it is hard to beat Seamus Ross of Menolly Properties. His company has built and sold 840 houses in the past 18 months off the Navan Road in Dublin 15, a record unlikely to be beaten by any developer even this year, when demand is so strong. Menolly speeded up its construction programme by mounting several building operations simultaneously on the huge site near Clonee. The company's policy of pitching its sales campaign at the price-sensitive new homes market, and holding prices steady when other developers were bumping them up, ensured a constant stream of buyers to the showhouses managed by Brendan Byrne of the Ross McParland agency. Menolly is far from finished at the site. It is expected to build another 700 houses on adjoining sites acquired from Jackie Green and the Guinness Trust. The new entrance to the site will be from the flyover at Littlepace Stud.
