South Dublin planners are considering a planning application for a 20-bedroom hotel beside Rathfarnham Castle, Dublin 14. The development will also include outbuildings at the castle. Meanwhile, Shannon Homes has secured permission to redevelop the grounds of St Gabriel's Hospital at Johnstown Road, Cabinteely, Dublin 14. The listed section of the hospital is to be used as a nursing home and the new scheme will include 60 four and five-bedroom houses and 60 apartments. In Lucan, McDonalds Restaurants has lodged a planning application for a 95-seat restaurant in the proposed new car-park at Superquinn Shopping Centre on Newcastle Road.
