Juicy swimwear and stylish rain gear

Stylefile: Swimwear that’s good enough to eat and 100% cotton blouses

They are known for their stylish Irish rainwear (shapely jackets and rain skirts), but now the mother and daughter team behind Georgia in Dublin, no doubt inspired by the summer weather, have launched a new range of 100 per cent cotton blouses to add to their repertoire.

Their three new designs called the Nikki, the Zola and the Genevieve can be bought online, by private appointment at their studio, and in Anastasia boutique in Ranelagh. The Nikki is short sleeved with cap sleeves; the Zola has a high frill collar, back buttons (sometimes difficult to close but it can also be worn back to front) and bow sleeves; and the Genevieve has a high collar, transparent insets and long buttoned cuffs – great with jeans or a pencil skirt. Prices from €185-€210.

Juicy swimwear

We came across Onia swimwear recently on Instagram, a New York brand with stylish offerings that make a splash in every sense. Founded originally 10 years ago as swimwear for men, concentrating on technology and fabric, fit and function, the idea was to create city shorts that doubled as both swimwear and daywear, resulting in accelerating success. Since then it has expanded into accessories and women’s swimwear with a full range of appealing one pieces and bikinis with a variety of shapes for tops and bottoms.

Prints are playful and patterns are bold and we loved the tropical fruit motifs – bananas with banana leaves, lemons, melons, chillies and pineapples along with giraffe, leopard, pecan and other colourful and zany images that caught the eye along with flattering fits and silhouettes. Prices for one pieces range from $150-$175 (about €130-€150) and the company ships worldwide. Visit onia.com
