Late Late Show looking for Irish in Britain to take part in London special

RTÉ's Late Late Show is looking for Irish people living in Britain to take part in a special edition of the chatshow in London.

The programme, due to air on Friday, October 12th, will mark the impact Irish people have had in Britain. "If you are part of that community and have a story to tell, we want to hear from you," Ryan Tubridy, its host, says. "You might have gone across the Irish Sea to build the Underground, or to work as a nurse, or maybe you went to visit friends, found love and never came home. Whatever it is, if you have a bit of Irish in you, you are welcome to join us on the night."

Tickets for the programme, which is expected to have 1,000 people in its studio audience, are being allocated online. "Go to the website, tell us about yourself," Tubridy says in a video on The Late Late Show's YouTube channel. "We have plenty of tickets, but they are limited, so we want to make sure that the Irish in Britain get their chance to be part of it."

It is the programme’s first visit to the city during Tubridy’s 10 years as host. “We’re going there because we think it’s time to say, ‘No matter what happens with Brexit, we’re always going to be friends, culturally, socially and every way imaginable.’ ”
