Time to try these wines from Slovenia and Moldova

Wines for the Weekend: These two Aldi wines are very good and well worth the price

This white matches well with fish, while the red is perfect with hearty casseroles

Two wines from off the beaten track today, but do give them a try; both are very good and well worth the money. Slovenia produces small amounts of wine, usually white and usually full of lovely fresh fruits. The unusual blend of grapes in the wine below works very well.

Moldova was once part of Romania, and the two countries share a language and culture, including wine. Both grow the indigenous feteasca regala and feteasca alba, and the rara neagra, which translates as “rare black”, an ancient variety that can produce some very good wine.
