GEORGIAN silver trophy, The Kilmalock Sporting Cup, dating from 1802, is among a fine selection of silver which Hamilton Osborne King will auction at its next furniture and fine arts sale in Blackrock, Dublin, on April 30th.

The cover is crested with a race horse and the cup, formerly a tea urn, is inscribed with a racing scene and the words Won by Fiddler/ The property of/Thomas Geo Stoney Esq.

Auctioneer Sara Kenny expects it to fetch £2,000-£2,500.

This should be a good varied sale, with plenty of solid Georgian and Victorian furniture as well as some more elaborate Continental pieces. There will also be a good selection of porcelain and collectables.
