The live final of The Raw Sessions, the RTÉ music series running over the past seven weeks, will take place in Dublin tonight. Choice- nominated experimentalist RSAG, hip-hop crew The Infomatics, indie-rock band Dirty Epics and singer- songwriter Majella Murphy will play The Button Factory at 8pm, with the winner being crowned Sony Ericsson Artist of the Year.

In each episode of the series, two acts were given a day to write and record an original song. A public vote then decided which act would progress. The four afore- mentioned acts have reached the semi-final stages and will perform at tonight’s gig – but only the three acts with the largest number of votes will compete for the title and feature in the final show.

Jeremy Hickey of RSAG told The Ticketthat participating in the series has been a "great thing". The final will be aired on RTÉ2 on June 30th. At the time of going to press, tickets for tonight's gig were still available from usual outlets.
