Shiny clothes: the sad side of the 1970s revival. We think they're rather like shiny skin - in need of a matt attack. At this time of year, what with the threat of Christmas parties (yes, already) upon us, the temptation to bring out those silver and gold threads is almost irresistible. However, we recommend that, unless you want to offer a fair imitation of an over-decorated Christmas tree, you curb that urge and stick with non-shiny fabrics. It's your company that should glitter, not your clothes.
