What's the best gig you've been to?Too many to count, but what sticks out in my head right now is a punk show that blew my mind, on a beach in Sarasota, when I was young. Something switched and I felt like I finally made a connection between cutting loose and knowing why – or should I say, that I finally found a reason and a meaning to "controlled chaos" while playing or enjoying music.

And the worst?All the gigs where the chaos became uncontrollable. Fights can always ruin a good time for everyone when they get out of hand.

Most embarrassing on-stage moment?Walking on to a crowd of over 5,000 eager people in London to start a tour, and finding that nothing worked.

Chatting between songs – good or bad?I prefer less talk most of the time. I sometimes get carried away even though I'm not that good at it like a lot of my friends. Sometimes it seems people get extremely carried away with pointless banter. Some folks are extremely entertaining even when talking about nothing!

Groupies. Would you?Inappropriate, but since you've asked, no. I'm spoken for and very happily married. I enjoy my personal space even though it's few and very far between while touring. Some people respect that and get it. Others do not. Some people let their excitement get the best of them and don't know where to draw a line.

Have you a special stage wardrobe?Yes, and I wouldn't touch it. A lot of miles and sweat tends to make 'em wretched.

What's the worst thing ever thrown at you?Other than a glass bottle, I'd say Jason Black's P Bass headstock.

If you could be in any other band, which one?Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Who's invited to your aftershow party?Whoever makes it.
