At 43 years of age, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Jennifer Lopez has arrived at the popstar party just a tad late. But J Lo is so successful (more than 70 million records sales to date) that she’s clearly making up for lost time.
Lopez has been a movie star since 1997, when she was chased by an enormous anaconda and played Selena Quintanilla in a biopic. Two years later she embarked on a music career, and from then on she has, more or less, balanced the workload while dealing with media appraisals of her personal life (relationships with Sean Combs, Ben Affleck, Marc Anthony) and her commercial nous. (She has, to date, “released” 18 fragrances; sold photographs of her twins, born in 2008, to People magazine for $6 million; signed brand deals with the likes of Fiat, Hilfiger and L’Oreal; and become a judge on American Idol.)
This 02 show marks J Lo’s debut appearance in Ireland.
It will be interesting to see if the ticket prices are matched by fan enhtusiasm.
