Others think she's an opportunistic wannabe with a major-label budget. Here in Pop Corner, however, we know a corker when we hear one. ** It's been quite a week for pop video gossip. First there was Rihanna in the field for her We Found Lovevideo, and then came news of Britney Spears in Hackney. Britters was shooting the video for her next single, Criminal, which featured a replica gun. The council are cross with Spears "glamorising violence in the area", which was targeted in the London riots. Britters is having none of it. Her spokesman says: "The video is a fantasy story featuring Britney's boyfriend, Jason Trawick, which literally plays out the lyrics of a song written three years before the riots ever happened."

** N-DUBZ WATCH

Despite recently claiming his first solo number one, poor old Dappy's feeling the chill out there on his own. He misses the Dubz something terrible, he told the Daily Starwith a sigh.

“When I’m on stage, I look around and all I can see is my gospel backing singers, and I just think, Where’s Tulisa? Where’s Fazer? That makes me sad.” He added: When N-Dubz played our last show at the O2 in London, we collapsed into each other’s arms at the end, as we knew it’d be our last show for two years.”
