Lost Brothers are now Readymade

MUSIC NEWS: Irish acoustic duo The Lost Brothers will be among the first artists released on Brendan Benson's new label, Readymade Records.

Part-time Raconteur Benson, who is based in Nashville, will release his fifth solo album, What Kind of World, in April via the label. It will be preceded by G ive Me My Change, the debut album of Nashville songwriter Young Hines, and followed by the as-yet-untitled third studio album by the Navan/Omagh pairing of Mark McCausland and Óisín Leech later this year.

Benson first concocted the idea for Readymade in the 1990s, but he and his manager, Emily White, only recently put their plans for a label and publishing company into practice.

The Lost Brothers first met Benson when Leech's former band, The 747s, supported The Raconteurs several years ago. After reconnecting in 2010, they were invited to Benson's home studio last summer to record the follow-up to their recent second album, So Long John Fante. It was among five albums that Benson produced last year, including his own.

"He has a unique approach to producing because he is such a great songwriter himself," said Leech. The Lost Brothers will appear on The Late Late Showtonight.
