Although they haven't released a studio album since 2007 ( Drums and Guns), it doesn't mean that Low have been, well, lying low. Alan Sparhawk's dynamic side-project Retribution Gospel Choir seemed to conflict with Low's ponderous pacing, but he's brought some of the Choir's sky-scraping buoyancy to Low's ninth studio album. C'moncertainly retains elements of the trio's dreamy slowcore sound, but it's hard to reconcile the band's staid early material with the poppy glow of the Mimi Parker-led You See Everythingand Especially Me.

Majesty/Magicalso lives up to its name, beginning as a slow-drip of moody murmurs before building to an intense, sweeping climax, while the woozy swoon of Nightingalewill enthral fans of Beach House. Rich, earthy and tranquil, C'mon is the perfect soundtrack to the changing seasons.
