FEATURING a variety of house clearances, Drums of Malahide holds its February furniture and fine art auction in the company premises next Thursday evening from 7 p.m. According to Denis Drum "the star of the auction" is an Irish Georgian Cuban mahogany longcase clock by Francis Sperils of Dublin and dating from circa 1770. It has an estimate of £4,000-£6,000, while a plain white chimney piece, measuring 46.5 inches high by five foot long, is expected to sell for £800-£1,200.

A Victorian four door dark mahogany astragal glazed cabinet in the Chippendale manner, standing just under six foot high, has an estimate of £500-£800, while a Victorian serpentine mahogany chiffonier sideboard with arched mirrored back is expected to make £600-£800. Among the smaller items are two Georgian circular copper bedwarmers with long turned handles; these each carry an estimate of £150-£200.
