SUM of £2,700 was paid for an 18 carat gold mounted diamond solitaire of approximately three carats at last week's auction in Thomas P. Adams & Co of Blackrock, Co Dublin.
A George III mahogany sofa table sold for £2,000, a Victorian mahogany secretaire wellington chest with five graduating drawers made £1,750, a set of eight 19th century mahogany dining chairs fetched £1,400, a Georgian mahogany slope front bureau realised £1,200 and a Victorian two seater settee sold for £800.
Among pictures, a 19th century Dutch school profile of a gentleman with armoured breastplate also fetched £800 and a watercolour by John Faulkner of sheep near Carlingford £500.
