With reference to a report headed "Monster queues for dinosaur Barney lead to RDS closure on safety grounds" in Monday's editions, the Royal Dublin Society wishes to point out that on the basis of its consultation with fire officers present at the RDS on Saturday and Sunday, all fire regulations were observed and there was no fire threat to participants at the event. The RDS allocated an extra hall of 12,000 square feet to the organisers of the event and, in order that public safety was not compromised, access was restricted on Saturday and Sunday.
