In the production process for some of Monday's editions, a photograph of the African-owned shop in Dublin which was damaged following a racial row was inadvertently superimposed on a photograph illustrating the opening of a new bowling green in Shankill, Co Dublin. The resulting image was a distortion of the two photographs.
The report headed "Representatives from five midland counties to view thermal treatment plants in Germany" in yesterday's editions said costs at the gasification plant at Karlsruhe included a gate charge of about £110 million a tonne which was expected to be reduced to £75 million to £80 million a tonne in the Irish context. The figures should have been £110, £75 and £80.
The report headed "Dublin celebrates May Day with samba and anti-racist speeches" in yesterday's editions said incorrectly that the placard carried by Ms Aine Ni Chonaill of the Immigration Control Platform said "Quisling Trade Unions Support Racism". In fact, the placard said the unions supported "Invasion".
Cllr Brendan Carr, deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin, addressed the rally as a representative of the Lord Mayor, Cllr Mary Freehill, not as a member of the Dublin Council of Trade Unions (DCTU). And the Belfast Council of Trade Unions and DCTU, not ICTU as stated, are to establish offices in Dublin and Belfast dedicated to combating racism. They will be funded by the International Fund for Ireland.
