Boudoir grand piano is high note of Adam sale

TOP price at last Tuesday's auction held by Thomas P. Adam in Blackrock, Dublin, was £2,800 for an ebonised Bechstein boudoir grand piano from the end of the last century. A Victorian rectangular giltwood and gesso overmantle mirror sold for £1,200 and a mahogany sofa table, some five foot long, made £1,100.

An Edwardian brass double bed fetched £1 050 a Victorian mahogany nine drawer dressing chest on plinth base sold for £1,000, a set of 23 Chippendale-style mahogany dining chairs made £950

Other prices: £850 for a George IV mahogany chest; £800 for a Victorian walnut four-door wardrobe; £600 for a Gashghai carpet; and £400 for an Edwardian gilt compartmented overmantle.
