The RUC said it had foiled an imminent terrorist attack; yesterday when two primed grenade launchers and a mortar device were found in north Belfast.

An RUC spokesman said a police and army foot patrol noticed suspicious activity in Rosebank Court in the Oldpark area at around 10.30 a.m.

A white hold all was found containing an improvised grenade and launcher. Then a second bag was found, with a second primed grenade launcher and a Mark 16 mortar. Police arrested a man in the area and he was being questioned last night.
