A 51-year-old Finglas man died from a stab wound to the neck or upper chest in an incident in the north Dublin suburb last June, an inquest has heard.

Michael Ryan, of Domville Woods, Santry, died from his injuries at the Mater hospital on June 20th, 2024 following the stabbing at Hampton Wood Way, St Margaret’s Way.

At the opening of Mr Ryan’s inquest at Dublin District Coroner’s Court on Wednesday, coroner Aisling Gannon agreed to adjourn the case as criminal proceedings are already under way in relation to Mr Ryan’s death.

Last June, Joseph Lawlor (38), of Hampton Wood Road, Finglas, appeared before Dublin District Court, charged with the murder of Mr Ryan contrary to common law.
