Volvo AB's truck division yesterday unveiled two new ranges for its fleet of heavy trucks, which will generate an investment of four billion Swedish crowns ($505 million). At a press viewing in Gothenburg, Volvo Truck presented its new FM range and a new generation of long-haul trucks, the FH. It said lower operating costs and higher comfort were the two biggest selling points of the new models.
The FM family will replace the FL series that was brought onto the market in 1985. The FM is designed primarily for regional distribution, construction duties and rubbish collection.
