Verbally-creative company unit

Sociology used to be the prime generator of mint-new jargon

Sociology used to be the prime generator of mint-new jargon. But now the torch has passed to human resources, as the company personnel function is now widely known. A person described as "exceptionally well qualified" means "has committed no major blunders to date". To be "active socially" means "drinks heavily". To have a character above reproach means "still one step ahead of the law". To be quick thinking means "offers plausible excuses for errors". "Spends extra hours on the job" means "miserable home life". Is there no end to this cynicism?
