The Margin noted the conflicting launches of two high-tech strategies this week by the Dublin Chambers of Commerce and the body promoting the digital districts project in the Liberties in Dublin.

The PR mandarins obviously got their wires crossed on this one by arranging two launches or rather "light lunches" at the same time on a busy news day.

The timetable clash sent the techie press into a spin. But that was nothing compared to the surprise at the different tone of each strategy document.

The Chambers bemoaned the lack of an "e-tsar" and criticised the Republic as a laggard, while the digital districts project gave an uplifting presentation promising a digital future for all.

The Margin wonders can we believe any of them when they can't even negotiate a timetable clash!
