Online travel company, e-bookers.com, officially launched in Ireland yesterday. Initially employing 60 people, the Irish office - in Dublin's Irish Life Centre - will support the travel website's service, acting as a call centre for its UK and Irish operations. The Irish version of the website - www.ebookers.ie - also went live yesterday.
Ebookers.com sells four core travel products: airfares, hotel accommodation, car hire and travel insurance. It has negotiated fare relationships with 115 airlines allowing it to sell tickets up to 65 per cent below published rates, and discounted accommodation rates at 14,000 hotels worldwide.
The company was officially opened by the Minister of State for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Mr Kitt.
