THE Telecom Eireann strategic alliance process is on the point of collapse, according to Fianna Fail spokesman on Transport Energy and Communications, Mr Seamus Brennan, TD.

In a statement released yesterday he criticised the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications, Mr Lowry for not telling unions and staff about the levels of redundancies or the possibilities for new management which are being negotiated as part of the deal. He said Wednesday's warning from the Telecom unions over not being "on board" for the alliance was ominous.
