One hundred years ago Albert Einstein published a paper presenting his theory of general relativity to the world. This theory explained how gravity worked while introducing the concept of space-time (space and time are a single interwoven continuum). If this seems too wibbly wobbly timey wimey for you, then who better than Doctor Who's Tenth Doctor David Tennant to explain it all in a clear yet entertaining manner while accompanying a cutesy cartoon?
The UK Science and Technology Facilities Council has commissioned an endearingly animated short film narrated by the Scottish actor in order to celebrate 100 years of Einstein’s theory while bringing it to the wider public. There’s even a bit of swearing in it but you can choose the clean option if you plan on showing this to your kids.
