There are plenty of fitness apps out there but this one focuses on GPS. It tracks your distance, pace, elevation and calories burned while you walk, cycle or run and presents the resulting trail, which you can share via Facebook or Twitter with your friends or stalkers.

Xtrail also handily syncs to all of your Apple devices through iCloud. Don’t forget to turn it off though after your workout because GPS apps are one of the biggest battery drainers.

Visit Entertainment.ie

Irish TV, cinema and celebrity news site Entertainment.iehas received a decent makeover.

It now boasts better social media integration, meaning there is a neat side menu showing trending TV shows on Twitter.

Who doesn’t tweet their excitement while watching Doctor Who? There’s also a new WTF section featuring strange and entertaining snippets from the far reaches of the web.

ViewData never sleeps

Domo is a US-based business intelligence company but its latest blog post is of interest to all readers. It features a beautiful infographic showing how much data is created every minute on the internet (see above).

Did you know that every minute 571 new websites are created, 100,000 tweets are blasted out and the Apple App Store gets about 47,000 app downloads? If you’re an IT teacher, I recommend saving and printing this out as a handy poster for your students.

If you’re following more than 100 people on Twitter it can be difficult – and not necessarily desirable – to keep up with everyone. Twitter Lists are a handy way of keeping track of folks and the Tweequer iPhone app extends this functionality. Using Tweequer you can easily scroll through friends and add them to existing lists, create new ones and manage lists from multiple Twitter accounts.

One addition I would like, however, is autocomplete because, like many, I follow a few thousand people and need prompting as to their names!
