Tech tools: HTC introduces its U12 Life

At €349, the phone is the most affordable in the HTC range but it still has much to offer

The mid-range handset market is a tough place to be these days, with competition heating up. Now HTC is back with a new handset, the U12 Life, which comes with an impressive price tag. At €349, the phone is the most affordable in the HTC range, but still manages to cram in a dual camera, 4K video and a hefty battery. A bit of thought has also gone into the design, with a two-tone finish that brings in HTC’s liquid metal look, with a toughened finish that’s designed to make it a bit more scratch resistant than it looks like it should be.
