PHF buys Irish arm of Siemens Enterprise

PFH, the privately owned technology provider, has acquired the Irish arm of Siemens Enterprise Communications. No financial details of the deal were released but PFH said it was a “multi-million euro acquisition”.

Following the integration of the Siemens business, PFH will employ close to 200 people and will have an annual turnover in excess of €45 million. PFH said the deal would make it “largest independent tier one” technology provider in Ireland and would be seeking to increase revenue to €50 million over the next year. Siemens Enterprise Communications specialises in the provision of voice and data networking services.

Nintendo forecasts smaller profits

Nintendo has posted its first quarterly profit growth in more than a year, helped by the launch of a popular game.

However it has forecast a second straight year of smaller profits as sales of its Wii console slow. Nintendo expects operating profit to fall 10 per cent to ¥320 billion (€2.7 billion) in the year to March 2011.

Open viewing of Facebook chats

Private chats between some Facebook users were viewable by other users on Wednesday, an embarrassing glitch for a company facing growing criticism over sloppy privacy protection.

Techcrunch, a blog, first reported a bug related to a feature on the fast-growing social network site that allows a user to see how their profile will appear to other users. Facebook says it has fixed the problem. – (Reuters)
