Despite recent job losses, the skills shortage will worsen over the next two years when an extra 5,000 people will be required to fuel the technology sector, an industry chief warned yesterday.

Mr Manus Hanratty, managing director of AOL Technologies, was speaking at the launch of the second annual report of "Fast-track to IT", which works to reduce the numbers of long-term unemployed and help solve IT skills shortage.
