Eishtec to add 250 jobs by mid-2014

Call centre company Eishtec said it will create another 250 jobs in Waterford and Wexford by mid 2014 as the firm secured a contract in the UK.

Recruitment for the roles, which will bring Eishtec’s total employee figures to 900, has already begun.

The new contract will see Eishtec provide smart phone technical support to customers on T-Mobile plans and tariffs in the UK.

The news was announced by Minister for Job, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton.

“In the South East, as across the country, we have a long way to go but we can have confidence that we are on the right path,” he said.

Eishtec was founded in 2011 by Colm Tracey, Brian Barry and Heather Reynolds with nine employees, and has grown significantly since.

Ms Reynolds said the rapid growth of the business had been challenging, “but not entirely surprising”.

“Our company mission is to challenge the standards of service,” she said. “It is this higher level of performance that has driven the growth.”

The company's expansion has been supported by Enterprise Ireland. CEO-designate Julie Sinnamon said the announcement was great news for the region.
