E-security company Accelerated Encryption Processing (AEP) has appointed Mr Chris Meehan as chief financial officer

E-security company Accelerated Encryption Processing (AEP) has appointed Mr Chris Meehan as chief financial officer. Mr Meehan joins AEP from Trintech, where he held the position of group board director and executive vice-president operations.

Mr Iarla Flynn has been elected chairman of ALTO, the representative association of new entrant telecommunications operators in the Republic. Mr Flynn is interconnect and regulatory affairs manager with Chorus.

A new chief executive has been appointed to the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland. Mr John Dunne, the current chief executive of the South Dublin Chamber of Commerce, will take up the role in August.

Gallagher & Kelly Public Relations (GKPR) has announced the appointment of Mr Paul McSharry as deputy managing director at the company. Mr McSharry, who will join the board of the company, was formerly a director of FleishmanHillard Saunders. The appointment of Mr McSharry follows a number of other recent senior appointments at the company. Ms Angie Kinane, an account director in GKPR, has been appointed head of technology communications. Ms Sarah Dempsey has joined GKPR as senior account director from Esat Digifone, where she was head of sponsorship and media relations. Mr Paul Keary has joined the company as senior account director from Text 100 and will head up a new division that manages corporate and financial communications for corporate and public sector clients.

BMC Software has appointed Ms Catherine Curran as professional services manager for Ireland. Prior to joining BMC Software, Ms Curran worked with Cognotec as systems architect manager.

A number of new appointments have been announced at Cable & Wireless Ireland. Mr Tadhg Foley, formerly managing director of Topology Systems, has been appointed sales director, while Mr Brett John- ston has been given the role of Internet sales Ireland.

BCS Computers has appointed Mr Les Byrne as territory manager for its Cork and Kerry region.

Mr Vincent Barton has joined Prospectus Strategy Consultants as associate director. He will head up its healthcare practice.

Mr Brian Lee, formerly a system manager with Ericsson, has been appointed manager of Duolog Technologies's new design centre in Galway.

Tesco Ireland has announced two new managerial appointments. Mr Bernard Mahoney has been named as stores operations manager for the Northern region, while Mr Ken Collins has been made marketing manager for the south Dublin region.

First Active has hired Mr Des Fitzgerald as general manager sales. He will join the management board of First Active and will be responsible for the retail sales and marketing functions.

Mr Sean Shine, a partner in Accenture's Dublin office, was recently elected president of the Republic of Ireland Council of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Mr Nick Ford has been appointed as the new country manager in Britain for Qualtrace Solutions, the Corkbased developer formerly known as Fastnet Technology.

National Irish Bank has named Mr David McKiernan as senior business development manager in corporate banking.

Xnet, the data storage solution provider, has strengthened its technical team with the appointment of a number of new members. Mr Jason Higgins- Casey, a BA honours graduate in management information systems, has been appointed as a systems engineer, while Mr Mark Kilpatrick, who worked previously with Decision Support Systems and Enba, also joins Xnet as a systems engineer. Mr Aidan O'Kelly has been appointed systems administrator. Prior to this he worked with Network 365 as a systems support engineer.

Barclays Bank has made two new appointments as part of the ongoing development of its corporate banking division in the Republic. Mr Brian Cooper was recently appointed director of inward investment within the Dublin division, while Mr Adrian Doran recently joined the group as associate director to head up Barclays' corporate banking division in Belfast.

The London-based European transport practice of global technology and management consultancy Booz Allen & Hamilton has appointed Mr Steve Kanowski as senior associate to be based in Dublin.

Ms Kiera Mansfield has been appointed systems and operations manager with IFG Mortgages.
