Knox Cash & Carry of Lurgan, Co Armagh, and its Belfast subsidiary, WG Windrum Son & Co, have been acquired by BWG, the distribution company. The Knox business has a £21 million sterling turnover, BWG, a subsidiary of Groupe Pernod Ricard, stated.

Mr Denis Allman, BWG's chief executive, said the acquisition enhanced the company's position in Northern Ireland. "It is part of our growth strategy to add on businesses such as this," he said.
