INTERNATIONAL marketing to motors group, Inchcape, which has seen its profits nose dive, has appointed a new chief executive. As part of a review of strategy, the current chief executive, Mr Charles Mackay, is being replaced by Mr Peter Cushing, the current managing director. The group said pre tax profits had crashed last year to £17.4 million sterling from £228.4 million in 1994 and the group had been forced to cut its dividend payout to shareholders from 11.5p to 10p. Earnings per share of 26.8p had turned into losses of 8.3p per share.
