An Irish postgraduate student has won an award at EuroPrix MultimediaArt '98 in Vienna, for his submission in the student awards category. Mr Martin Casey (26) was the only one of 11 Irish entries chosen for the shortlist in the Europe-wide competition, organised by the European Commission and the Austrian Ministry for Economic Affairs. "Born with a Broken Tongue" was created as part of Mr Casey's MA in Interactive Multimedia at the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) this year. The CDROM uses multimedia to share personal insights into the fears and shames of stuttering, a condition shared by Mr Casey.
