GERMAN shares ended a lacklustre day's trade slightly ahead, unsettled by a weak dollar and the suspension of one of its biggest stocks, insurer Allianz. Paris CAC-40: 1962.86 (-11.81)

French shares moved close to positive territory after Wall Street opened but then drifted to trade around eleven down. Caution prevailed in the face of a weak dollar and ahead of the release of a flurry of key US economic data next week.
