The Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Ms Harney, has approved the takeover of Coral by Ladbroke following receipt of a report from the Irish Competition Authority giving the go-ahead to the proposal.
The £375.5 million sterling deal between the two British groups involves 891 betting shops changing hands, including 50 shops in the Republic.
