Irish Permanent and TSB have raised the rate on their variable deposit special savings incentive accounts to 4.25 per cent from 4 per cent. Irish Life, part of the same group, has doubled its bonus offer to SaverScope investors to 2.5 per cent after five years.

AIB has also altered the terms of its variable rate product, requiring only seven days notice to withdraw funds, from 30 days previously, in order to meet the Consumer Association of Ireland's kitemark standards.
