Independent stake increased

Independent News & Media finance director James Parkinson has increased his stake in the media group to 701,738 shares after buying 100,000 more shares at an option price of 81 1/2p (€1.03). With Independent shares closing yesterday on €4.64, Mr Parkinson has made an immediate paper profit of €361,000 (£284,310) on his investment.
