PwC posts fee income of €355m

PricewaterhouseCoopers has posted all-Ireland fee income of €355 million for the year ended June 30th, 2008, the company said yesterday.

Despite the downturn, senior partner Ronan Murphy said the firm had seen growth in its financial services, inward investment and international tax planning practices which he said reflects Ireland's attractiveness as a location of choice for business in the international arena.

However, the areas of strongest growth were its performance improvement, business restructuring and tax advisory practices with this growth largely based on the work it is doing with clients to help them deal with the downturn.

Waste manager makes £1.2m profit

Augean, the British hazardous waste manager for which Irish-owned One51 is set to make a bid, had profits of £1.2 million in the first six months of the year. The company said yesterday that revenues were up almost 60 per cent at £16.8 million in the first half from £10.7 million during the same period in 2007. Profits before tax were £1.2 million from £2 million. One51 owns close to 27 per cent of the Augean.

Dell global chief to visit Limerick plant

Concerned workers at Limerick's Dell facility are to receive a visit from the company's global head of operations Michael Cannon tomorrow.

The visit takes place as fears grow for the future of the plant where some 3,000 people are employed. A report in the Wall Street Journal has suggested Dell executives plan to sell factories worldwide.
