The IMF should be more forthcoming about its operations in order to dispel the notion that it is a secretive body, US Treasury Secretary Mr Robert Rubin urged yesterday.

Mr Rubin, addressing the International Monetary Fund's policymaking interim committee, also called for measures that would in effect pressure IMF member countries to disclose financial data that would aid investors.
