Only three of the eleven Government departments contacted yesterday by the Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association had staff at work to respond to urgent enquiries, according to ISME. Last year, the Minister of State in charge of Public Service gave a commitment that a skeleton staff would be in place at Government departments to respond to enquiries during periods of protracted holidays, ISME said in a statement.
