A GALWAY-BASED software developer has won a €200,000-a- year deal with a leading aviation and defence player.

Cut-e Group, from Loughrea, Co Galway, said at the weekend that Airbus passenger jet manufacturer Eads (the European Aeronautic Defence and Space company) had given it a contract to supply software used in selecting candidates for its graduate recruitment programme.

The company said the deal would be worth €200,000 a year to the business.

Cut-e is a client of State agency Enterprise Ireland and has similar contracts with other Irish and multinational businesses. Its customers include Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Coca-Cola, Statoil and Siemens.

The company said yesterday that the Eads deal would broaden the spread of its business into the French, German and Spanish markets. Eads manufactures the Airbus passenger jets used by Aer Lingus, the Eurocopter, the Eurofighter, and a range of military and defence systems.

It also produces components for high-power space telescopes and satellites.

The group is also manufacturing the A400M heavy airlifter, Europe’s biggest military project. It came under political fire early last week for delays in this project.
