The Frankfurt market slipped slightly as the DAX index finished at 2469.38 points, down 0.13 per cent from 2472.64 points on Wednesday's close. Traders said the weak tone was partly due to the lack of dollar strength, but mainly because of a black of buyers". Prices were little changed in after hours trade with the index regaining just four points.
CAC 40 2085.41 (+1.67)
The Paris market eked out a small gain as the CAC-40 index finished at 2085.41 points, up 0.08 per cent by comparison with Tuesday's close Wednesday was a holiday. The gain broke a four session losing streak on the Paris market, which was supported in the afternoon by some speculative buying of certain shares, traders said. Wall Street's firmness also helped.
Mibtel 10488 (+89)
The Milan bourse chalked up a substantial gain as the Mibtel index finished the day at 10488, up 89 points or 0.86 per cent on the day.
