Bank of Ireland has said that board member Patrick O’Sullivan will succeed Dennis Holt as senior independent director and deputy governor – the bank’s name for deputy chairman – next week.

The appointment will be subject to his re-election to the court (board) of the bank at the annual meeting next Wednesday.

Mr O’Sullivan has been a board member of the bank since 2009.
