The European Commission has given its approval for Jefferson Smurfit to sell its French subsidiary, Papeteries Condat, to Italian company Garda. The transaction is part of a deal that will also see Jefferson Smurfit take a 17 per cent stake in Garda, which is controlled by British investment fund CVC Capital Partners.
