HIGH street shops and car dealers in Britain enjoyed a welcome boost to sales in the run-up to Christmas from consumers spending freely with credit cards, a report claimed yesterday.
The Finance & Leasing Association said there were also encouraging signs in its November statistics that the recent decline in business investment may be bottoming out.
