Sean Dunne involved in $14m building plan, court filings claim

Bankrupt property developer Sean Dunne is alleged to be involved in a $14 million construction project in the US, while a house he developed is on the market for $5 million, according to court filings.

Bankruptcy trustee Richard Coan has lodged a complaint in the Connecticut bankruptcy court, seeking to get back millions of euro in assets Dunne is alleged to have "fraudulently transferred" to his wife Gayle Killilea.

Among them is the property development business that Dunne has created in Connecticut (and New York) that is an extension of his Irish development business, Mountbrook Ireland.

In the court filings, counsel for Mr Coan says ownership of the development business and the various projects is titled in Ms Killilea’s name despite the fact that she has no development experience and Dunne has continued to run the projects.

Mr Coan alleges Mr Dunne “picked up where he had left off in Ireland, but camouflaged his interest in the name of Killilea” noting that Mr Dunne has decades of property development experience whereas Ms Killilea worked as a newspaper columnist.

The US bankruptcy official also alleges that Mr Dunne is currently involved in a $14 million construction project in Greenwich, Connecticut, while another Greenwich home he built is up for sale for almost $5 million.
