Mixed-use site in heart of Wexford town

Site at Commercial Quay for €850,000 currently being used as temporary car park

A key site for a mixed-use development in Wexford town has come on the market through joint agents DTZ Sherry FitzGerald and Sherry FitzGerald Haythornthwaite.

The selling agents are seeking more than €850,000 for the 0.30 hectare (0.75 of an acre) site at Commercial Quay which includes number 84 facing on to North Main Street, a former bank premises and The Metro Bar fronting on the Commercial Quay.

Most of the site has already been cleared and is being used as a temporary car park.

The site offers some short-term income and would be ideal for a mixed-use development, according to the agents.

Under its “town centre” zoning, the site is defined “to protect and enhance the special physical and social character of the existing town centre and to provide for new and improved town centre facilities and uses”.

Rory Breen of agent DTZ said the site provided a unique opportunity for a developer to acquire a large town centre site with an excellent profile for a large mixed-use retail and residential scheme in the heart of Wexford town.
